The course is available in two formats:

• 2 x 1-hour sessions per week, the recommended format to provide more frequent contact with English.
• 1 x 1.5-hour session per week, as an alternative for students who prefer to attend once a week.

We work with small groups of no more than 8 students, allowing everyone to participate and enabling the teacher to provide close individual attention.

Classes have a dynamic, age-appropriate pace, with particular emphasis on listening and speaking. Activities may include games, songs, movement, creative activities and other resources appropriate to this stage.

In P5, there is no homework. English is learnt and practised during the sessions in a way that is appropriate to the students’ age.

Our approach is practical, participative and age-appropriate, encouraging natural contact with English and creating opportunities for students to understand, participate and begin using the language with greater confidence.

Listening and speaking play a fundamental role. As students become more familiar with English, they begin to recognise and understand a wider range of simple words and expressions and gradually use them in familiar contexts.

Learning is designed to be dynamic and varied and may include games, songs, movement, stories, creative activities, visual resources and other activities suited to the age and characteristics of the group.

At this stage, the main aim remains to develop a good oral foundation, confidence and curiosity about English, respecting each student’s individual pace and gradually preparing them for the next stages of learning.

Throughout the course, students will have contact with simple English related to their surroundings and everyday experiences, gradually expanding the vocabulary and expressions with which they become familiar.

Content may include basic vocabulary and common expressions related to topics such as colours, numbers, animals, toys, family, parts of the body, food and everyday routines, among others.

We will continue to focus particularly on listening and becoming familiar with the sounds and rhythms of English, gradually developing the ability to understand simple words, expressions and instructions.

Through participation in class, students can begin to recognise, repeat and use an increasingly wide range of simple words and expressions, gradually and naturally, without setting rigid expectations about how much language they should be able to produce at this age.

Do students need any previous knowledge of English?

No. The course is designed for students in P5, whether this is their first contact with English or they have already had some previous exposure to the language. Classes are adapted to the age and pace of the group, so students do not need to start with a particular level of English.

How are the groups organised?

Groups are organised primarily according to age, school year and the needs of the students, as well as timetable availability. Where appropriate, a group may include students from neighbouring school years, taking into account their age, previous exposure to English and the characteristics of the group. The aim is to create balanced groups in which all students can participate and progress at an appropriate pace.

How many students are there in each group?

We work with small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, allowing everyone to participate and enabling the teacher to provide close individual attention.

Are the teachers native speakers?

Our team is made up of native English-speaking teachers or teachers with a native-equivalent level of English, selected both for their command of the language and their ability to work with children and adapt classes to their age and needs.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English is the main language of communication in the classroom and is used naturally in a way that is appropriate to the students’ age. Spanish or Catalan may be used occasionally when necessary to aid understanding, support students and ensure that they feel comfortable in the classroom.

Do students work on reading and writing?

In P5, the course continues to focus primarily on listening, speaking and becoming familiar with English. Formal reading and writing are not yet among the main aims of the course at this stage.

Is there any homework?

No. In P5, there is no homework. English is learnt and practised during the sessions in a way that is appropriate to the students’ age.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student is unable to attend a class, we will provide any relevant information or materials needed to keep up with the group, where applicable. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be made up individually and are not deducted from the course fee.

How are the monthly fees calculated?

The price is calculated based on the full academic year and the teaching calendar, and the total course fee is divided into 10 equal monthly payments. The monthly fee therefore does not correspond to the exact number of classes held during that particular month.

Due to public holidays, school holidays and the way the calendar falls, some months have more classes and others fewer, but these variations are already taken into account in the total course price.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a replacement session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the following payment, whether monthly or termly.

Are any discounts available?

Yes. We offer a 5% Family Members (FM) discount on monthly fees when two or more members of the same family are enrolled. In addition, students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell can benefit from a discount on the enrolment or place-reservation fee. Full conditions can be found in the Discounts section.

Family Members (FM)

When two or more members of the same family are enrolled at Eureka, each receives a 5% discount on their monthly fee while their enrolments overlap during the course. For example, if two siblings are enrolled, both receive a 5% discount on their monthly fee.

Club Natació Sabadell Members (CNS)

Students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell can benefit from a €10 discount on the enrolment or place-reservation fee:

• New students: enrolment fee of €35 instead of €45.
• Current students: place-reservation fee of €20 instead of €30.

Discount Conditions

The Family Members (FM) discount applies to the monthly fees of each family member.

The discount for students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell (CNS) applies only to the enrolment or place-reservation fee, as applicable.

Discounts and promotions cannot be combined, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the conditions of a particular promotion.
