From this stage onwards, the course consists of 2 hours of English per week, increasing students’ contact with the language and allowing us to develop the different skills in greater depth and with greater continuity.

This format gives us more time to work on speaking, listening, reading and writing, as well as consolidating the grammar and vocabulary students need to continue progressing towards higher levels.

Homework is an important part of the course and will be set every week to reinforce and consolidate what has been covered in class, encourage independent learning and develop increasingly strong study habits.

Our approach is practical and communicative, while at this stage we gradually expect students to become more accurate, independent and actively involved in their own learning.

Speaking remains a fundamental part of the course, with activities that encourage students to hold longer conversations, exchange information, talk about experiences and plans, and express simple opinions more clearly.

Reading and writing play an increasingly important role. Students work with longer and more varied texts and gradually learn to organise their ideas and produce simple but structured and coherent pieces of writing.

Grammar and vocabulary are taught in an integrated and meaningful context, helping students expand the language available to them and use it more accurately in both spoken and written English.

Throughout the course, students work with a broad range of topics and situations, expanding the vocabulary, structures and communication skills they need to use English with greater independence.

Topics may include personal experiences, school, relationships, hobbies, travel, technology, the environment, culture, the media and aspects of the world around them, always using materials appropriate for their age.

Students learn to talk about past experiences and future plans, describe and compare, express opinions and preferences, make suggestions, give simple reasons and take part in conversations about familiar topics, using an increasingly broad range of language.

We develop listening, speaking, reading and writing in an integrated way, gradually increasing the length and complexity of texts and audio while helping students produce more complete, organised and accurate messages and pieces of writing.

Is any previous knowledge of English required?

Yes. This course is designed for students who already have a foundation in English at approximately A2 level and are ready to consolidate and expand their knowledge. Each student’s previous experience and current level will be taken into account when considering the most appropriate group.

How are groups organised by age and level?

6th Primary (ages 11–12) is the reference school year, although age, previous experience, level and group availability are also taken into account. At this stage, English level is an important factor when forming groups and ensuring appropriate progression.

Will there be homework?

Yes. Homework is an important part of the course and will be set every week to reinforce and consolidate what has been covered in class, increase students’ contact with English outside the classroom and develop greater independence and good study habits.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student is unable to attend a class, we will provide the information and/or materials needed to catch up, whenever possible. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be made up individually and are not deducted from the course fees.

Our fees are calculated on the basis of an average of 35 teaching weeks per academic year. The exact number of sessions may vary slightly depending on the day of the week and the academic calendar, and some groups may have an additional session. These small variations are already taken into account in the course fees.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a make-up session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the next payment, whether monthly or termly.

What level are students expected to reach by the end of the course?

Our aim is for students to reach approximately A2+ level by the end of the course, consolidating a strong foundation that will allow them to communicate with greater confidence and independence and continue progressing towards B1.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English will be the main language used in the classroom and will be used regularly for explanations, activities and interaction. Other languages may occasionally be used when necessary to clarify specific concepts and support learning.

10% discount for each new student, plus an additional 5% for each additional student, applicable for one term.

Families affected by unemployment

15% discount on course fees for one student per family throughout the academic year. Supporting documentation will be required.

Discount conditions

Discounts cannot be combined. If more than one discount is applicable, the most favourable discount will be applied.

For particularly small groups of 2 or 3 students, discounts will be subject to the viability of the group and Eureka reserves the right not to apply them.
