From this stage onwards, the course consists of 1.5 hours of English per week, giving students more time to use English actively and develop the different language skills in greater depth.

This format allows us to combine communicative activities, listening, reading and writing, while maintaining a dynamic pace appropriate for the students’ age.

Students will have a small amount of homework each week to reinforce and consolidate what has been covered in class. Tasks will always be appropriate for their age and level and will help them gradually develop greater independence and good study habits.

We continue to place particular emphasis on listening and speaking, with English used regularly in classroom routines, games and activities. New language is introduced gradually and in context and reused in different situations to encourage natural understanding and use.

Reading and writing take on a progressively greater role, with simple texts and level-appropriate activities that help students understand and begin to produce sentences and short texts in English.

Our aim is for students to build confidence, participate and use English increasingly spontaneously, while also developing greater independence and good learning habits.

Throughout the course, we work with topics that are familiar and relevant to students, gradually expanding the vocabulary, expressions and structures they can understand and use in English.

Topics may include family, school, friends, home, food, everyday activities, hobbies, free time, travel and the world around them, with new language introduced gradually and in context.

Students learn to use an increasingly varied range of expressions and structures to talk about themselves and their experiences, describe people, places and situations, express likes, preferences and simple opinions, ask and answer questions, and communicate with greater independence in familiar situations.

The course continues to place particular emphasis on listening, understanding and interacting in English, while reading and writing begin to play a greater role. Students start working with short, simple texts and producing sentences and short pieces of writing appropriate to their level.

Is any previous knowledge of English required?

Yes. This course is designed for students who already have a foundation in English at approximately A1 level. Each student’s previous experience and current level will be taken into account when considering the most appropriate group.

How are groups organised by age and level?

4th Primary (ages 9–10) is the reference school year, although age, previous experience, level and group availability are also taken into account. From this stage onwards, English level plays a more important role when forming groups and ensuring an appropriate pace of learning.

Will there be homework?

Yes. Homework is a regular part of the course and will be set every week to reinforce and consolidate what has been covered in class and gradually develop good study habits and greater independence.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student is unable to attend a class, we will provide the information and/or materials needed to catch up, whenever possible. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be made up individually and are not deducted from the course fees.

Our fees are calculated on the basis of an average of 35 teaching weeks per academic year. The exact number of sessions may vary slightly depending on the day of the week and the academic calendar, and some groups may have an additional session. These small variations are already taken into account in the course fees.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a make-up session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the next payment, whether monthly or termly.

What level are students expected to reach by the end of the course?

Our aim is for students to reach approximately A1+ level by the end of the course, expanding and consolidating the language they need to communicate with greater confidence and gradually preparing them to progress towards A2.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English will be the main language used in the classroom and will be used regularly for explanations, activities and interaction. Other languages may occasionally be used when necessary to clarify specific concepts and support learning.

Discounts cannot be combined. If more than one discount is applicable, the most favourable discount will be applied.

For particularly small groups of 2 or 3 students, discounts will be subject to the viability of the group and Eureka reserves the right not to apply them.
