The course consists of 1 hour of English per week, designed to provide continuity and gradually build on the foundations developed during the first years of Primary.

We work with small groups of no more than 6 students, allowing everyone to participate actively and enabling the teacher to monitor each student’s progress closely.

Classes are practical and participative, with activities adapted to the students’ age and level. We continue to prioritise listening, understanding and speaking, while gradually introducing more reading and writing as a natural part of the learning process.

Throughout the course, we may set short activities to complete at home from time to time to reinforce and consolidate what has been covered in class and gradually encourage students to develop good learning habits. Homework will not be a central part of the course and will always be appropriate for the students’ age.

Our approach is practical, communicative and age-appropriate, giving students plenty of opportunities to listen to, understand and use English actively.

We place particular emphasis on listening and speaking, using English regularly in classroom games, routines and activities. New language is introduced gradually and in context and reused in different situations to encourage natural understanding and use.

Reading and writing are introduced in a simple and very gradual way, bearing in mind that at this age students are still developing these skills in their other languages too. They are used mainly to support students in recognising and consolidating words and expressions that have already been introduced orally.

Our aim is for students to build confidence, participate and feel comfortable using English, while keeping motivation and enjoyment at the heart of the learning process.

Throughout the course, we will work with topics that are familiar and relevant to students, gradually expanding the vocabulary and expressions they can understand and use in English.

Content may include areas such as family, school, friends, animals, food, clothes, the home, parts of the body, games, everyday activities and free time, with new vocabulary introduced gradually.

Students will learn to use simple expressions and structures to talk about themselves and their surroundings, express likes and preferences, ask and answer basic questions, and describe people, animals and objects.

The course will focus particularly on listening, understanding and interacting in English, supported by simple reading and writing activities that help students recognise and consolidate the language introduced orally in class.

Is any previous knowledge of English or a level test required?

Not necessarily. The course is designed for students who may already have had some contact with English and developed some basic foundations, but they do not need to start at a specific level or take a level test.

If there is any doubt about which group would be most suitable, we can arrange a short in-person assessment at Eureka before they join the course.

How are the groups formed?

Groups are organised primarily according to school year, age and English level, as well as timetable availability. At this age, we do not separate students solely according to level, unless there are significant differences that would make another group more suitable.

How many students are there in each group?

Are the teachers native speakers?

Our team consists of native English-speaking teachers or teachers with a native-equivalent level of English, selected both for their command of the language and their ability to work with children and adapt classes to their age and level.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English will be the main language of communication in the classroom. At this age, other languages may occasionally be used when necessary to support understanding, but we encourage students to become increasingly familiar and comfortable with using English naturally.

Will there be homework?

Homework will not be a central part of the course, although we may set short activities to complete at home from time to time to reinforce what has been covered in class and gradually encourage students to develop good learning habits.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student is unable to attend a class, we will provide the information and/or materials needed to catch up, whenever possible. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be made up individually and are not deducted from the course fees.

Our fees are calculated on the basis of an average of 35 teaching weeks per academic year. The exact number of sessions may vary slightly depending on the day of the week and the academic calendar, and some groups may have an additional session. These small variations are already taken into account in the course fees.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a make-up session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the next payment, whether monthly or termly.

Friends & Family

10% discount for each new student, plus an additional 5% for each additional student, applicable for one term.

Unemployment Discount

15% discount on the course fee for one student per family throughout the academic year. Supporting documentation will be required.

Discount Conditions

Discounts cannot be combined. Where more than one discount applies, the most favourable discount will be applied.

For particularly small groups of 2 or 3 students, discounts will be subject to the viability of the group and Eureka reserves the right not to apply them.

Discounts apply to course fees and not to registration fees or other additional charges, unless expressly stated otherwise.
