The course consists of 2 hours per week, divided into 2 one-hour sessions, providing students with frequent and consistent contact with English throughout the week.

We work with small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, allowing us to encourage participation and closely monitor each student’s progress.

Classes progressively develop the different language skills, maintaining a strong focus on listening and speaking while incorporating an increasing amount of reading and writing.

From this stage onwards, homework becomes a more regular part of the course, particularly to reinforce and consolidate work done in class, although it will not necessarily be set after every lesson.

Our approach remains practical and communicative, while gradually introducing more structured work on the different language skills as students progress.

Listening and speaking continue to play a fundamental role, creating opportunities for students to understand and use English in an increasingly wide range of familiar situations.

Reading and writing take on an increasingly important role, with students working with words, sentences and short texts connected to the language they are learning and using orally.

Vocabulary and grammatical structures are taught in context and through communication, helping students recognise patterns in the language and begin to use them more accurately without turning grammar into a purely theoretical area of study.

Throughout the course, students progressively expand the vocabulary, expressions and structures they can understand and use, working with topics related to their surroundings, experiences and everyday situations.

Topics may include family and friends, school, the home, routines, free time, food, clothes, animals, places, abilities, likes and preferences, among others.

Students progressively learn to understand instructions and questions, exchange simple information, talk about themselves and their surroundings, express likes and preferences and describe familiar situations using an increasingly broad range of English.

All four skills — listening, speaking, reading and writing — are developed progressively and in an integrated way, incorporating short texts and simple written tasks appropriate to the students’ age and level.

Do students need any previous knowledge of English?

No. Although some previous contact with English is preferable, it is not essential for students to join the course.

We take into account each student’s age, previous experience and individual needs when determining the most appropriate group.

How are the groups organised?

Groups are organised primarily according to age, school year and English level, as well as timetable availability. Where appropriate, a group may include students from neighbouring school years, taking into account their level, previous experience and the characteristics of the group.

The aim is to create balanced groups in which all students can participate and progress at an appropriate pace.

How many students are there in each group?

Are the teachers native speakers?

Our team consists of native English-speaking teachers or teachers with an equivalent level of English, selected both for their command of the language and their ability to work with children and adapt classes to their age and needs.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English is the main language of communication in the classroom and is used naturally and in a way that is appropriate to the students’ age and level. When necessary, Spanish or Catalan may occasionally be used to facilitate understanding and support learning.

Do students work on reading and writing?

Yes. In 2nd Primary, reading and writing gradually take on a more significant role, always connected to the vocabulary and structures covered in class.

Students begin to read short sentences and texts and produce simple written words, expressions and messages, while continuing to develop their listening and speaking skills.

Will there be homework?

Yes. From this stage onwards, homework becomes a more regular part of the course, particularly to reinforce and consolidate work done in class. However, this does not mean that homework will necessarily be set after every lesson.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student cannot attend a class, we will provide any relevant information or materials needed to keep up with the group, where applicable. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be made up individually and are not deducted from the course fee.

How are the monthly instalments calculated?

The price is calculated on the basis of the full academic year and teaching calendar, and the total amount is divided into 10 equal monthly instalments. The monthly instalment therefore does not correspond to the exact number of classes held in that particular month.

Because of public holidays, school holidays and the way the academic calendar falls, some months have more classes than others, but these variations are already taken into account in the total course price.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a replacement session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the following payment, whether monthly or termly.

Are any discounts available?

Yes. We offer a 5% Family Members (FM) discount on monthly fees when two or more members of the same family are enrolled. In addition, students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell may be eligible for a discount on the enrolment or place reservation fee. Full conditions can be found under Discounts.

Family Members (FM)

When two or more members of the same family are enrolled at Eureka, each receives a 5% discount on their monthly fee while their enrolments overlap during the course. For example, if two siblings are enrolled, both receive a 5% discount on their monthly fee.

Club Natació Sabadell Members (CNS)

Students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell can benefit from a €10 discount on the enrolment or place-reservation fee:

• New students: enrolment fee of €35 instead of €45.
• Current students: place-reservation fee of €20 instead of €30.

Discount Conditions

The Family Members (FM) discount applies to the monthly fees of each family member.

The discount for students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell (CNS) applies only to the enrolment or place-reservation fee, as applicable.

Discounts and promotions cannot be combined, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the conditions of a particular promotion.
