The course is available in two formats:

• 2 x 1-hour sessions per week, the recommended format for more frequent contact with English.
• 1 x1.5-hour session per week, as an alternative for students who prefer to attend on one day.

We work with small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, allowing us to encourage participation and closely monitor each student’s progress.

Classes progressively develop the different language skills in an age-appropriate way, with listening and speaking remaining the main priorities while reading and writing are gradually incorporated.

Homework is not a regular part of the course in 1st Primary, although a simple activity may occasionally be set to reinforce work done in class.

Our approach remains practical and communicative, helping students learn English through situations, activities and contexts appropriate to their age.

Listening and speaking continue to play a fundamental role, creating opportunities for students to listen, understand, respond and begin using English with increasing independence.

Reading and writing are introduced gradually and in connection with spoken language. Students begin to recognise words and expressions they already know, connect sounds with their written forms and produce very simple words or messages.

Vocabulary and the first grammatical structures are taught in context and through communication, helping students understand and use the language naturally without introducing a formal approach to grammar at this stage.

Throughout the course, students work with simple vocabulary and expressions related to their surroundings and everyday experiences, gradually expanding the English they can understand and use.

Topics may include family, school, animals, food, clothes, toys, parts of the body, the home, routines, likes and dislikes and everyday activities, among others.

Students progressively learn to understand and follow simple instructions, answer basic questions, talk about themselves and their surroundings and use common words and expressions in familiar situations.

The main focus is on listening and speaking, with reading and writing gradually incorporated through words, expressions and very short texts appropriate to the students’ age and level.

Do students need any previous knowledge of English?

Students do not need to start at a specific level. The course is designed primarily for students in 1st Primary and is adapted to their age and previous experience with English.

How are the groups organised?

Groups are organised primarily according to age, school year and students’ needs, as well as timetable availability. Where appropriate, a group may include students from neighbouring school years, taking into account their age, previous experience with English and the characteristics of the group. The aim is to create balanced groups in which all students can participate and progress at an appropriate pace.

How many students are there in each group?

Are the teachers native speakers?

Our team consists of native English-speaking teachers or teachers with an equivalent level of English, selected both for their command of the language and their ability to work with children and adapt classes to their age and needs.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English is the main language of communication in the classroom and is used naturally and in a way that is appropriate to the students’ age. When necessary, Spanish or Catalan may occasionally be used to facilitate understanding and support learning.

Do students work on reading and writing?

Yes, but gradually and in an age-appropriate way. In 1st Primary, listening and speaking remain a priority, while students begin to recognise written words and expressions and take their first steps in writing in English.

Will there be homework?

Homework is not a regular part of the course in 1st Primary, although a simple activity may occasionally be set to reinforce work done in class.

At this stage, most English learning and practice takes place during the lessons in a way that is appropriate to the students’ age.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student cannot attend a class, we will provide any relevant information or materials needed to keep up with the group, where applicable. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be made up individually and are not deducted from the course fee.

How are the monthly instalments calculated?

The price is calculated on the basis of the full academic year and teaching calendar, and the total amount is divided into 10 equal monthly instalments. The monthly instalment therefore does not correspond to the exact number of classes held in that particular month.

Because of public holidays, school holidays and the way the academic calendar falls, some months have more classes than others, but these variations are already taken into account in the total course price.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a replacement session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the following payment, whether monthly or termly.

Are any discounts available?

Yes. We offer a 5% Family Members (FM) discount on monthly fees when two or more members of the same family are enrolled. In addition, students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell may be eligible for a discount on the enrolment or place reservation fee. Full conditions can be found under Discounts.

Family Members (FM)

When two or more members of the same family are enrolled at Eureka, each receives a 5% discount on their monthly fee while their enrolments overlap during the course. For example, if two siblings are enrolled, both receive a 5% discount on their monthly fee.

Club Natació Sabadell Members (CNS)

Students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell can benefit from a €10 discount on the enrolment or place-reservation fee:

• New students: enrolment fee of €35 instead of €45.
• Current students: place-reservation fee of €20 instead of €30.

Discount Conditions

The Family Members (FM) discount applies to the monthly fees of each family member.

The discount for students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell (CNS) applies only to the enrolment or place-reservation fee, as applicable.

Discounts and promotions cannot be combined, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the conditions of a particular promotion.
