“The Full Package” represents our approach to English for teenagers: a complete learning experience that combines all the essential language skills and helps students develop increasingly fluent, accurate and independent English.

“Hit Your Stride” means reaching a point where you begin to progress with confidence and assurance. It is an expression that fits this course particularly well, as students expand their language resources and develop the fluency, accuracy and independence needed to operate at a more advanced level in English.

This is our B2 English course for Bachillerato students, designed for students starting from approximately B1+ and developing the skills they need to achieve a solid B2 level, while progressively incorporating tasks and strategies related to the current PAU format.

Interested in the course but the timetable doesn’t work? Click “I’m interested” and let us know which times would work best.

Hit Your Stride is designed for Bachillerato students starting from approximately B1+ who want to progress towards a solid B2 level.

Groups are organised primarily by level, although we also take age and school year into account. Throughout the course, students will develop their ability to communicate with greater fluency, accuracy and independence, develop and justify their ideas, and deal confidently with increasingly complex texts, audio and situations.

The course combines the development of genuine, well-rounded B2 English with a gradual introduction to tasks and strategies related to the current PAU format. This allows students to work with a wide variety of B2-level texts and audio without limiting their learning to the available exam papers.

The aim is for students to achieve a solid B2 level while also developing the skills and strategies they need to approach the English requirements of Bachillerato and the PAU with greater confidence.

The course consists of 2 hours of English per week, with sessions designed to provide a balanced approach to the different language skills and maintain regular contact with English throughout the week.

The course can be taken in person at our Barcelona centre or online, depending on availability and group formation. Online groups will open once 3–4 students have been confirmed.

We work with small groups of no more than 6 students, allowing everyone to participate actively and enabling the teacher to monitor each student’s progress closely.

Homework is part of the course and will be set weekly to consolidate what has been covered in class, increase students’ contact with English outside the classroom and encourage greater independence and good study habits.

Our approach is communicative, practical and participative, with progressively higher expectations and a particular emphasis on students being able to use English with fluency, accuracy and independence.

English will be the main language of communication in the classroom, and students will be expected to maintain longer conversations, develop and justify their ideas, respond to other people’s opinions and communicate more spontaneously when dealing with more complex topics and situations.

Grammar and vocabulary are taught in meaningful contexts and combined with speaking, listening, reading and writing. At this level, particular attention is paid to expanding students’ linguistic range, choosing more precise expressions and using an increasingly varied and natural range of structures.

Throughout the course, we will also gradually incorporate tasks and strategies related to the current PAU format. The aim is not to limit classes to practising exam papers, but to use B2-level texts, audio and activities, some adapted to question types and tasks similar to those used in the PAU, to develop both students’ genuine level of English and the strategies they need to approach the exam successfully.

The course develops grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, reading and writing in an integrated way, starting from approximately B1+ and progressing towards B2 level.

Grammar and structures

Students will consolidate and extend structures such as narrative tenses, the present perfect simple and continuous, conditionals, modal verbs, the passive voice, reported speech, relative clauses and gerund and infinitive structures. They will also work with a wider range of complex structures, linking words and language for expressing contrast, hypotheses, cause, consequence and opinions with greater precision.

Vocabulary

Students will considerably expand their vocabulary across topics such as education, relationships, technology, media, culture, society, travel, health and the environment. Particular attention will be paid to collocations, phrasal verbs, word formation, dependent prepositions, idiomatic expressions and differences in register.

Speaking and communication

Students will learn to develop and justify ideas in greater depth, compare and evaluate different options, speculate, negotiate and respond to other people’s opinions. Particular emphasis will be placed on their ability to maintain longer and more spontaneous conversations, using a wider range of structures and vocabulary.

Listening and Reading

Students will work with a wide variety of B2-level written and spoken texts, developing strategies to identify main ideas, details, opinions, attitudes and implied meaning. Throughout the course, we will also introduce activities and question types related to the current PAU format, without limiting comprehension work to the available exam papers.

Writing

Writing will be developed through increasingly structured and detailed texts, with attention to organisation, cohesion, register, grammatical accuracy and range of vocabulary. We will also gradually incorporate tasks and assessment criteria relevant to writing in the PAU, while maintaining the development of genuine B2-level writing skills as the main objective.

The aim is to achieve a solid, functional B2 level, developing both the skills students need to use English with greater independence and the strategies and abilities they need to approach English in Bachillerato and the PAU with confidence.

Is any previous knowledge of English or a level test required?

Yes. This course is designed for students starting at approximately B1+ level who want to consolidate and expand their knowledge and progress towards B2.

For new students, we recommend taking a level test before joining the course. This can be done online or in person at Eureka, although we recommend the in-person option as it allows us to assess the student’s level more accurately and find the most suitable group.

Students who already study at Eureka do not need to take another level test, as we will take into account their progress and the level reached during the previous academic year.

How are groups organised by age and level?

Groups are organised primarily according to English level, as this is the key factor in ensuring appropriate progression. Hit Your Stride is designed primarily for Bachillerato students.

We also take age and school year into account and, whenever possible, aim to form well-balanced groups in terms of age and stage of education.

How many students are there in each group?

We work with small groups of no more than 6 students, allowing everyone to participate actively and enabling the teacher to monitor each student’s progress closely.

Are the teachers native speakers?

Our team consists of native English-speaking teachers or teachers with a native-equivalent level of English, selected both for their command of the language and their ability to work with teenagers and adapt classes to their age and level.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English will be the main language of communication in the classroom and, at this level, students are expected to use it regularly and increasingly spontaneously. Other languages may occasionally be used when necessary to clarify particularly complex concepts, but the use of English will be actively encouraged throughout the lesson.

Is this a PAU preparation course?

The main aim of the course is for students to progress from B1+ to a solid B2 level, but PAU preparation also forms part of the course.

Throughout the year, tasks, formats and strategies related to the current PAU format will be introduced progressively and integrated into the overall development of B2-level English.

The course is not limited to practising exam papers: students will work with a wide variety of B2-level texts, audio materials and activities, some of which will be adapted to question and task types similar to those found in the PAU.

Will there be homework?

Yes. Homework is an important part of the course and will be set weekly to consolidate what has been covered in class, reinforce areas that require additional practice and encourage greater independence and good study habits.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student is unable to attend a class, we will provide the information and/or materials needed to catch up, whenever possible. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be made up individually and are not deducted from the course fees.

Our fees are calculated on the basis of an average of 35 teaching weeks per academic year. The exact number of sessions may vary slightly depending on the day of the week and the academic calendar, and some groups may have an additional session. These small variations are already taken into account in the course fees.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a make-up session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the next payment, whether monthly or termly.
