Chatterbox is our conversation programme for adults, designed to help you speak English more naturally, spontaneously and confidently.

The word chatterbox describes someone who likes to talk, and that is exactly the idea behind the programme: to create a space where speaking is at the heart of every class and where you can put the English you already know into practice.

Chatterbox Starter is designed for adults with an approximate A2 level who understand basic English but still need to gain confidence and become more comfortable using it in real conversations.

We work in small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, so that everyone has plenty of opportunities to participate and speak.

Classes can take place face-to-face at Escola Santa Clara in Sabadell (Santa Clara Idiomes) or online, depending on demand and group formation.

Interested in the course but the timetable doesn’t work for you? Click “I’m interested” and let us know your availability.

Chatterbox Starter is based on a simple idea: to learn to speak English, you need real opportunities to speak it.

It is designed for students who already have an A2 level foundation in English but may still need time to formulate their ideas, find the right words or feel comfortable taking part in a conversation.

The aim is to activate the English students already know and gradually develop more spontaneous communication. Through accessible topics and situations related to real life, students expand their vocabulary, improve their pronunciation and learn expressions and strategies that help them keep a conversation going.

Sessions combine language preparation with plenty of speaking practice: conversations in pairs and small groups, role plays, exchanging opinions, practical situations, communication games and short discussions adapted to the level.

Chatterbox Starter can complement a general English course or be taken as a standalone course when the main goal is to improve speaking skills.

Chatterbox Starter is available in two formats, depending on group formation:

  • 1.5 hours per week: one 1.5-hour session.
  • 2 hours per week: two 1-hour sessions.

The 1.5-hour-per-week format offers a full session dedicated to conversation, with enough time to introduce vocabulary and expressions, develop a topic and put the language into practice through a range of speaking activities.

The 2-hour-per-week format, divided into two sessions, provides more frequent practice and more regular contact with English. The same topic can be developed over two sessions, expanding vocabulary and expressions and then using them in different conversations, situations and activities.

Classes can take place face-to-face in Sabadell or online, depending on demand and group formation.

We work in small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, to encourage participation.

Groups and timetables are organised according to students’ level and availability.

Classes focus on spoken communication and the practical use of English.

Each session starts with a topic or situation and first provides students with the tools they need to talk about it: vocabulary, useful expressions, questions, pronunciation and structures adapted to A2 level.

Students then put this language into practice through conversations, role plays, pair and small-group activities, communication games, problem-solving situations and simple discussions.

Particular attention is given to developing the ability to keep a conversation going, react to what another person says, ask questions, express opinions and continue communicating even when a word or expression is missing.

The teacher provides feedback and corrections during the activities, helping students improve accuracy and pronunciation without turning the conversation class into a traditional grammar lesson.

The aim is for students to speak more and more and rely less and less on pre-prepared answers.

The course content is organised around everyday topics and situations appropriate for A2 level.

Throughout the course, students work on familiar and accessible topics such as family, routines, free time, food, shopping, travel, the city, work, holidays, past experiences and simple future plans.

Students expand their vocabulary and learn practical ways to express themselves and take part in a conversation: for example, how to give a simple opinion, explain a reason, give an example, express likes and preferences, react to what another person says, ask questions, talk about experiences or explain plans.

Students also work on strategies for keeping a conversation going when they don’t know a word, asking for clarification and gradually improving their pronunciation, rhythm and clarity when speaking.

All language is introduced as a tool for communication and actively put into practice during the sessions.

Do I need any previous knowledge of English?

Yes. Chatterbox Starter is designed for adults with an approximate A2 level who already have a basic foundation in English but want to gain confidence and become more comfortable speaking.

You do not need to have studied at Eureka before. Each student’s level, previous experience and individual needs will be taken into account to determine whether Chatterbox Starter is the most suitable group.

How are the groups formed?

Groups are organised primarily according to students’ English level and availability. Previous experience, individual needs and objectives are also taken into account to create groups that are as compatible as possible.

The aim is to create balanced groups in which everyone can participate actively and feel comfortable speaking English.

How many students are there in each group?

We work with small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, which is particularly important in a conversation course to ensure that everyone has real opportunities to participate and speak.

Are the teachers native speakers?

Our team consists of native English-speaking teachers or teachers with a level of English equivalent to that of a native speaker, selected both for their command of the language and for their experience and ability to encourage communication and adapt activities to the level of the group.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English is the main language of communication in the classroom and is used naturally and in a way that is appropriate for A2 level.

When necessary, Spanish or Catalan may occasionally be used to aid understanding, but the aim is to create as many opportunities to listen, respond and speak in English as possible.

Is Chatterbox a general English course?

No. Chatterbox is a course specifically focused on conversation and spoken communication.

Students work on vocabulary, expressions, pronunciation and the aspects of grammar that help them communicate more effectively, but the course does not follow the same comprehensive skills programme as a general English course.

Chatterbox can be taken as a standalone course or as a complement to a general English course when students want to spend more time speaking and developing fluency.

What is the difference between Chatterbox Starter and a general A2 English course?

A general A2 English course develops speaking, listening, reading, writing, vocabulary and grammar in a balanced way, with the aim of developing the student’s overall level of English.

Chatterbox Starter focuses primarily on activating that English through conversation: speaking more, developing a wider range of ways to express yourself and gaining confidence and spontaneity when communicating.

For this reason, the two types of course can also complement each other.

Will there be homework?

Chatterbox is primarily designed as a space for speaking practice, so it does not follow the same system of regular homework as a general English course.

The teacher may occasionally suggest short preparation, vocabulary or revision activities when these help students get more out of the sessions.

Can I attend once or twice a week?

Yes. Chatterbox Starter is available in two formats:

1.5 hours per week, in one 1.5-hour session.

2 hours per week, in two 1-hour sessions.

Specific groups are formed according to demand, level and students’ availability.

Can classes be taken online?

Yes. Groups can take place face-to-face in Sabadell or online, depending on demand and group formation.

Both formats follow the same communicative approach, with activities designed to encourage interaction and active participation.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student is unable to attend a class, the necessary information or materials will be provided to help them keep up with the group, where applicable.

As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be
