The course consists of 3 hours per week, divided into 2 sessions of 1 hour 30 minutes.

This format allows us to work on English with greater depth and continuity, combining new content with practice, revision and consolidation. The aim is for students to consolidate a solid A2 level and progress gradually towards A2+, using English with increasing confidence and independence.

We work with small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, allowing us to encourage participation, provide frequent opportunities for communication and closely monitor each student’s individual progress.

Sessions combine listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar and vocabulary, together with communicative activities, projects and tasks that require students to integrate different skills and use English with increasing independence.

Homework is a regular part of the course and is important for consolidating what has been covered in class. It also helps students develop study habits, organisation, responsibility and autonomy, which become particularly important during Secondary school.

In Find Your Feet, the approach continues to be communicative, but students begin to work with the language with greater depth, accuracy and independence.

An important part of the course involves consolidating the knowledge students already have and learning to use it more flexibly in different situations. As they progress from A2 towards A2+, students are expected to express themselves in greater detail, hold more developed conversations, and understand and produce increasingly complex messages.

Grammar is taught both in context and explicitly when useful, helping students to understand the differences between structures and use them more accurately. At the same time, we expand their vocabulary and pay particular attention to common expressions, word combinations and more natural ways of communicating in English.

Students also develop strategies to plan and review their writing, keep a conversation going even when they do not know a word, work out meaning from context, identify relevant information and learn from their own mistakes.

At this stage, we encourage students to take greater responsibility for their learning, helping them develop study habits, independence and a greater awareness of their strengths and the areas they still need to improve.

Starting from an A2 level, students consolidate the essential knowledge and skills at this level and expand the language they need to communicate about everyday situations, experiences, events, plans and topics relevant to their age. The aim is for them to express themselves in greater detail, connect their ideas more effectively and communicate with less support.

Students develop their use of the present, past and future, working not only on how structures are formed but also on choosing and using them appropriately in different contexts. They also expand the language they need to compare, describe, express obligation, possibility and preferences, talk about situations and consequences, ask more precise questions, and explain opinions and reasons.

In speaking, students gradually move from relatively short exchanges towards more developed conversations. They work on maintaining an interaction, asking follow-up questions, describing experiences and situations in greater detail, and expressing and justifying their opinions.

In reading, students work with stories, articles, informative texts and other materials adapted for teenagers and appropriate to their level, developing their ability to understand the overall meaning, specific information, details and meanings that are not always expressed completely explicitly.

In listening, students learn to follow longer conversations and audio, identify relevant information and understand the overall meaning even when they do not know all the vocabulary or structures being used.

In writing, students progress towards more developed and organised texts, including stories, descriptions, messages, emails and texts about experiences or opinions, paying increasing attention to organisation, linking words, grammatical accuracy and range of vocabulary.

The aim is for students to complete Find Your Feet with a solid A2+ level and greater confidence and independence in their use of English, with the foundations they need to continue progressing towards intermediate levels.

Do students need previous knowledge of English or a level test?

Yes. Find Your Feet is designed for students who already have an English level close to A2 and are ready to consolidate this foundation and continue progressing.

Students do not need to have taken previous courses at Eureka. For new students, we may recommend a level test to make sure the course is suitable. We will also take into account their age, school year, previous experience and individual learning needs.

For students who already study with us, we can normally recommend the most suitable group based on their progress and work during the previous academic year.

What ages and school years is Find Your Feet designed for?

Find Your Feet is aimed at Secondary school students who need to consolidate their English foundation and progress towards A2+.

Age and school year are important, but we place particular emphasis on students’ actual English level, aiming to create groups in which students have compatible levels, learning needs and rates of progress.

What level are students expected to reach?

The aim is to consolidate a solid A2 level and progress towards A2+, gradually developing greater confidence and independence in English.

Progress can vary from one student to another, so levels are used as objectives and reference points, rather than automatic outcomes at the end of a course.

Why does the course consist of 3 hours per week?

The 3 hours per week allow us to work with greater depth and continuity, dedicating sufficient time both to consolidating what students have learned and to continuing their progress towards A2+.

Sessions allow us to spend more time on speaking, reading, writing, listening, projects, revision and consolidation, as well as introducing new content.

Will students take an official exam?

No. Find Your Feet is not a specific exam preparation course and students are not required to take an external exam.

Throughout the course, we may incorporate different types of activities and tasks that allow us to work on the different skills and assess students’ progress.

How are groups formed?

In Find Your Feet, English level plays a particularly important role when forming groups.

We also take into account age, school year, previous experience and learning needs, aiming to place students with others who have a compatible level and pace of learning.

How many students are there in each group?

We work with small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, allowing us to encourage participation and closely monitor each student’s progress.

Are the teachers native speakers?

Our team consists of native English-speaking teachers or teachers with an equivalent level of English, selected both for their command of the language and their ability to work with children and teenagers and adapt classes to their age and needs.

Are classes taught entirely in English?

English is the main language of communication in the classroom and, at this level, students are expected to use it for an increasing proportion of the class.

Spanish or Catalan may occasionally be used when helpful to clarify language points or facilitate learning.

Will there be homework?

Yes. Homework is a regular and important part of the course and helps students consolidate content, practise the different skills and develop good study habits.

At this stage, we also encourage students to organise their work, take greater responsibility and develop independence outside the classroom.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student is unable to attend a class, we will provide the information or material needed to keep up with the group, where applicable. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence are not made up individually or deducted from the course fee.

How are the monthly fees calculated?

The price is calculated based on the full academic year and teaching calendar, and the total amount is divided into 10 equal monthly payments. The monthly fee therefore does not correspond to the exact number of classes held during that particular month.

Due to public holidays, school holidays and the way the academic calendar is distributed, some months have more classes than others, but these variations are already taken into account in the total course price.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a make-up session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the following payment, whether monthly or termly.

Are any discounts available?

Yes. We offer a 5% Family Members (FM) discount on monthly fees when two or more members of the same family are enrolled. In addition, students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell can benefit from a discount on the enrolment or place reservation fee. Full conditions can be found in the Discounts section.

Family Members (FM)

When two or more members of the same family are enrolled at Eureka, each receives a 5% discount on their monthly fee while their enrolments overlap during the course. For example, if two siblings are enrolled, both receive a 5% discount on their monthly fee.

Club Natació Sabadell Members (CNS)

Students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell can benefit from a €10 discount on the enrolment or place-reservation fee:

• New students: enrolment fee of €35 instead of €45.
• Current students: place-reservation fee of €20 instead of €30.

Discount Conditions

The Family Members (FM) discount applies to the monthly fees of each family member.

The discount for students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell (CNS) applies only to the enrolment or place-reservation fee, as applicable.
