The course consists of 2 hours per week, divided into 2 one-hour sessions, providing students with frequent and consistent contact with English throughout the week.

We work with small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, allowing us to encourage participation and closely monitor each student’s progress.

Classes develop all four language skills — listening, speaking, reading and writing — in a balanced way, combining communication with increasingly extensive work on vocabulary, grammar and oral and written comprehension and production.

Homework is a regular part of the course and helps students practise, reinforce and consolidate work done in class. The amount may vary depending on the content and the needs of the group.

Our approach remains practical and communicative, while students gradually begin to work with the language in a more structured way.

Activities give students opportunities to use English in an increasingly wide range of situations and contexts, developing their ability to understand information, take part in simple exchanges and express ideas and experiences in greater detail.

Vocabulary is expanded systematically, while grammar is taught in context and in connection with real language use. As students progress, they begin to understand more clearly how different structures work and use them with increasing accuracy.

We also encourage the development of comprehension and communication strategies, helping students use the language and resources they already know when they do not understand a word or need to find another way of expressing an idea.

At this stage, students begin to move beyond very basic exchanges and learn to give more information, connect simple ideas and communicate about a wider range of familiar situations.

They develop the language needed to talk about daily life, school, hobbies and interests, people and places, past activities, simple plans, the natural world and familiar experiences, while learning to describe, compare and express basic opinions and preferences.

Students work with an increasingly varied range of basic grammatical structures, developing greater control of areas such as questions and negatives, descriptions, frequency, quantity, common past forms and ways of talking about simple plans and intentions.

Reading includes short stories, dialogues and simple informative texts, with students learning to understand the main message and identify specific information. Writing develops towards short connected texts, such as descriptions, messages and simple accounts of familiar experiences.

In listening and speaking, students develop their ability to follow short conversations, ask and answer questions and maintain simple exchanges on familiar topics, using an increasingly broad range of vocabulary and expressions.

Do students need any previous knowledge of English?

Students should preferably have a basic foundation in English, as the course continues to develop the skills and knowledge acquired in earlier stages.

Students do not need to have completed Eureka’s previous courses. We take into account each student’s age, level, previous experience and individual needs when determining the most appropriate group.

How are the groups organised?

Groups are organised primarily according to age, school year and English level, as well as timetable availability. Where appropriate, a group may include students from neighbouring school years, taking into account their level, previous experience and the characteristics of the group.

The aim is to create balanced groups in which all students can participate and progress at an appropriate pace.

How many students are there in each group?

Are the teachers native speakers?

Our team consists of native English-speaking teachers or teachers with an equivalent level of English, selected both for their command of the language and their ability to work with children and adapt classes to their age and needs.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English is the main language of communication in the classroom and is used naturally and in a way that is appropriate to the students’ age and level. When necessary, Spanish or Catalan may occasionally be used to facilitate understanding and support learning.

Will there be homework?

Yes. At this stage, homework is a regular part of the course and is used to practise, reinforce and consolidate work done in class.

The amount of homework may vary depending on the content and the needs of the group, and homework will not necessarily be set after every lesson.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student cannot attend a class, we will provide any relevant information or materials needed to keep up with the group, where applicable. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be made up individually and are not deducted from the course fee.

How are the monthly instalments calculated?

The price is calculated on the basis of the full academic year and teaching calendar, and the total amount is divided into 10 equal monthly instalments. The monthly instalment therefore does not correspond to the exact number of classes held in that particular month.

Because of public holidays, school holidays and the way the academic calendar falls, some months have more classes than others, but these variations are already taken into account in the total course price.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a replacement session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the following payment, whether monthly or termly.

Are any discounts available?

Yes. We offer a 5% Family Members (FM) discount on monthly fees when two or more members of the same family are enrolled. In addition, students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell may be eligible for a discount on the enrolment or place reservation fee. Full conditions can be found under Discounts.

Family Members (FM)

When two or more members of the same family are enrolled at Eureka, each receives a 5% discount on their monthly fee while their enrolments overlap during the course. For example, if two siblings are enrolled, both receive a 5% discount on their monthly fee.

Club Natació Sabadell Members (CNS)

Students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell can benefit from a €10 discount on the enrolment or place-reservation fee:

• New students: enrolment fee of €35 instead of €45.
• Current students: place-reservation fee of €20 instead of €30.

Discount Conditions

The Family Members (FM) discount applies to the monthly fees of each family member.

The discount for students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell (CNS) applies only to the enrolment or place-reservation fee, as applicable.

Discounts and promotions cannot be combined, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the conditions of a particular promotion.
