The course consists of 2 hours per week, divided into 2 one-hour sessions, providing students with frequent and consistent contact with English throughout the week.

We work with small groups, normally with a maximum of 8 students, allowing us to encourage participation and closely monitor each student’s progress.

Classes progressively develop all four language skills — listening, speaking, reading and writing —, combining communicative work with activities that help consolidate vocabulary, structures and language use.

At this stage, homework is generally a regular part of the course and helps reinforce and consolidate work done in class. Its frequency and length may vary depending on the content and the needs of the group.

Our approach remains practical and communicative, while the different language skills are developed in a more balanced way as students progress.

Students work with English in situations and contexts appropriate to their age and level, learning to understand increasingly varied messages, take part in simple exchanges and express their own ideas both orally and in writing.

Vocabulary and grammar are taught in context and in connection with real language use. Students begin to recognise and understand basic English structures and patterns more clearly and use them with increasing accuracy.

The aim is not simply for students to learn new words and structures, but to progressively learn how to use them to communicate, developing confidence, independence and a solid foundation for further progress.

Throughout the course, students expand the vocabulary, expressions and structures they need to communicate about familiar and everyday topics, while progressively developing all four language skills.

Topics may include family and friends, school, routines, free time, sports, food, the home, places, animals, abilities, experiences, likes and preferences, among others.

Students progressively learn to understand simple information and instructions, ask and answer questions, take part in short conversations, describe people, places and activities and talk about themselves and their surroundings.

They also work with short texts appropriate to their level, developing basic reading comprehension strategies and beginning to produce sentences and short texts about familiar topics.

Grammar and vocabulary are introduced progressively and in context, helping students express themselves with greater variety and accuracy while maintaining the communicative nature of the course.

Do students need any previous knowledge of English?

Although students do not need to start at an exact level, some previous contact with English is recommended, as the course continues to develop knowledge and skills acquired in earlier stages.

We take into account each student’s age, level, previous experience and individual needs when determining the most appropriate group.

How are the groups organised?

Groups are organised primarily according to age, school year and English level, as well as timetable availability. Where appropriate, a group may include students from neighbouring school years, taking into account their level, previous experience and the characteristics of the group.

The aim is to create balanced groups in which all students can participate and progress at an appropriate pace.

How many students are there in each group?

Are the teachers native speakers?

Our team consists of native English-speaking teachers or teachers with an equivalent level of English, selected both for their command of the language and their ability to work with children and adapt classes to their age and needs.

Are the classes entirely in English?

English is the main language of communication in the classroom and is used naturally and in a way that is appropriate to the students’ age and level. When necessary, Spanish or Catalan may occasionally be used to facilitate understanding and support learning.

Will there be homework?

Yes. At this stage, homework is generally a regular part of the course and is used to reinforce and consolidate work done in class.

The amount and frequency may vary depending on the content and the needs of the group, so homework will not necessarily be set after every lesson.

What happens if a student misses a class?

If a student cannot attend a class, we will provide any relevant information or materials needed to keep up with the group, where applicable. As these are group classes, sessions missed due to a student’s absence cannot be made up individually and are not deducted from the course fee.

How are the monthly instalments calculated?

The price is calculated on the basis of the full academic year and teaching calendar, and the total amount is divided into 10 equal monthly instalments. The monthly instalment therefore does not correspond to the exact number of classes held in that particular month.

Because of public holidays, school holidays and the way the academic calendar falls, some months have more classes than others, but these variations are already taken into account in the total course price.

What happens if Eureka has to cancel a class?

If Eureka has to cancel a class and we are unable to provide a substitute teacher, we will offer a replacement session. If it is not possible to reschedule the class, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the following payment, whether monthly or termly.

Are any discounts available?

Yes. We offer a 5% Family Members (FM) discount on monthly fees when two or more members of the same family are enrolled. In addition, students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell may be eligible for a discount on the enrolment or place reservation fee. Full conditions can be found under Discounts.

Family Members (FM)

When two or more members of the same family are enrolled at Eureka, each receives a 5% discount on their monthly fee while their enrolments overlap during the course. For example, if two siblings are enrolled, both receive a 5% discount on their monthly fee.

Club Natació Sabadell Members (CNS)

Students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell can benefit from a €10 discount on the enrolment or place-reservation fee:

• New students: enrolment fee of €35 instead of €45.
• Current students: place-reservation fee of €20 instead of €30.

Discount Conditions

The Family Members (FM) discount applies to the monthly fees of each family member.

The discount for students who are members of Club Natació Sabadell (CNS) applies only to the enrolment or place-reservation fee, as applicable.

Discounts and promotions cannot be combined, unless explicitly stated otherwise in the conditions of a particular promotion.
